The aim of the RADIANT CREATOR WORKSHOP – “Meeting the Acorns” is to showcase the significance of acorns in human consumption nowadays. Actual challenges related to the climate and socioeconomical crisis create an atmosphere of uncertainty that, emphasize the importance of proactive nature-based strategies. Acorns, as a fruit from native and spontaneous trees of Europe (but also from the entire temperate zone of the northern hemisphere) offer a potential contribution to the necessary adaptation of food supply systems. However, Acorn requires attention and coordinated efforts to become widely accessible and accepted. Bringing together stakeholders and consumers is once more the opportunity to promote this UC and its real potential.
