The RARE Food Fair will be an impactful, market-oriented event designed to promote traditional and cultural heritage using Underutilised Crops (UCs), traditional varieties, and landraces that are linked to tourism, short-value chains, sustainability, organic farming, and other goods of local and regional identity. The aim is to actively involve the public and other stakeholders throughout the agri-food system in this open/free event. This will maximize the adoption of new and superior products that tell a story.
The RARE Food Fair will be held as the final event of the H2020 RADIANT project. RADIANT will invite the three SFS-01-c sister projects – CROPDIVA , BIOVALUE and DIVINFOOD to participate in RARE FOOD FAIR and showcase their products. This citizen-oriented event aims to attract several participants and will feature farmers, organic markets, companies, local restaurants, and chefs advocating for tradition with innovation and ethical menus.
In addition to showcasing and selling products, the event will highlight the importance of local gastronomies and socio-economic contexts related to traditional and sustainable foods. This inclusive event invites anyone interested in learning about sustainable and innovative food practices (interested citizens, families, farmers, municipalities, schools, companies, chefs….), creating a space to exchange ideas and promote the adoption of sustainable agricultural products and practices.
The RARE FOOD FAIR is an excellent opportunity to showcase your products. If you want to participate as an exhibitor, please email us at joana@ipnc2025.org. This will be an open and free event on 22nd July (15h – 19h) at Alfândega Porto Congress Centre, which we advise all 20th IPNC participants to attend and share with their networks. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this exciting celebration of sustainable, innovative, traditional food products!
The RADIANT app connects farmers with consumers and facilitates dialogue among stakeholders in the value chain. Its primary goal is to promote education and awareness about underutilized crops.
